Imperial Valley-raised singer-songwriter Jade Maeby is expanding her musical career with the release of her new single, “Corazon,” her first recording in Spanish, exploring themes of second chances and past relationships.

Now based in Los Angeles, Maeby credits her parents and her upbringing in the Imperial Valley with shaping her musical interests, work ethic, and approach to songwriting.

“Actually, more than being lucky enough to grow up in the Imperial Valley, my parents were the biggest influence on my sound, work ethic and my love for music,” Maeby said.

Growing up in the region exposed her to various musical genres, including hip-hop and rock en español. She believes the valley’s cultural diversity has contributed to its residents’ wide-ranging musical interests.

“My favorite memories will always be cruising with my friends listening to music at full blast and Sunday mornings listening to the music my dad would play while washing the car,” she said.

Maeby recalled a defining moment three years ago while watching Beyoncé’s Coachella performance on Netflix. The experience strengthened her determination to pursue music professionally and inspired her song “Bright Eyed.”

“I just thought, ‘God, please let that be me too,’” she said.

Her creative interests extend beyond music to comedy, sketch writing, and directing projects with friends, activities she plans to pursue alongside her recording career.

“My passion is entertainment, and that comes in many shapes,” Maeby said.

Her latest single, “Corazon,” marks a new chapter in her musical development as she incorporates Spanish into her work.

“This is my first song in Spanish and I felt like the message of the song called for it to be sung that way,” she said. “It’s a very sweet song about second chances and reminiscing on a past love.”

Maeby said she considers Spanish a particularly romantic language and hopes to include it in future recordings.

Producing the single under Jade Maeby Records required several revisions, particularly to its hook, which she reworked over several weeks to achieve the nostalgic atmosphere she envisioned.

“The hook was remade multiple times because I felt I wasn’t invoking the feeling I was looking for,” she said.

Looking ahead, Maeby plans to experiment with new sounds and creative approaches, although she has not disclosed details about her upcoming projects.

“I have plans to push my sound and music-making a lot further than what people have seen from me in the past,” she said. “I’m working hard on delivering something new and fresh.”

Maeby expressed appreciation for her family, friends, and supporters, acknowledging their encouragement throughout her artistic development.

She also credited her faith as an important influence in her personal and professional journey.

“I’m very grateful for the people that have been following me and supporting me. I want to give a big thanks to God for paving the way for me, my family for raising and loving me, my friends for their constant support, and to all the people I have met along this journey for showing me kindness and encouragement. Watch me make my way,” Maeby said.
