Imperial Valley College (IVC) will welcome incoming students and their families at its Spring Orientation event on Saturday, February 1, 2025. The event, taking place on the IVC campus from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., is designed to help new students prepare for their first semester, which begins on February 10.
The orientation aims to provide essential resources and opportunities for new students to connect with faculty, staff, and peers, easing their transition into college life. Workshops will be offered in both English and Spanish to accommodate IVC’s diverse student population.
Highlights of the event include a welcome address from IVC leadership, information sessions on academic programs and support services, alumni panels where graduates will share insights and advice, and interactive resource tables with details on various campus services. While tailored to new students, returning students are also welcome to attend to support their peers.
“We are thrilled to welcome our new students and their families to Imperial Valley College,” said Dr. Yareli Rivera-Suamataia, director of Student Development and Activities. “Spring Orientation is all about helping new students feel prepared and supported as they begin their educational journey. We encourage families to join us and learn how they can contribute to their students’ success.”
Special sessions for families will provide an overview of support services, resource programs, and ways to stay involved in their student’s academic progress. These sessions aim to empower parents and guardians with tools to support their students effectively.
