The Imperial County Office of Education (ICOE) will kick off its 2025 academic calendar with the Imperial County Science Fair, Thursday, January 16, 2025. The event will take place at the Casa de Mañana building at the Imperial Valley Fairgrounds, located at 200 East 2nd Street in Imperial, California.
The Science Fair offers an opportunity for local students in grades 6 through 12 to showcase their interest in science and present innovative projects to peers and the community. This year, 118 students representing eight schools have submitted projects across a variety of scientific categories.
The event will culminate in an awards ceremony scheduled for 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the evening at the same venue. The public is invited to attend and celebrate the students’ achievements.
The Science Fair is one of several academic events the Imperial County Office of Education (ICOE) has planned for 2025 to enrich students’ educational experiences. Other events include the Academic Decathlon Awards Ceremony on January 25, the Mock Trial Awards Ceremony on February 12, National History Day on March 5, and the Spelling Bee on March 20 at Southwest High School’s Jimmie Cannon Theater. Additional events include the Esports Competition on April 1-2, the Math Competition on April 30-May 1, the newly introduced Academic Pentathlon on May 17, and the Arts Festival on May 22. Most events will take place at ICOE’s Administrative Conference Center (ACC).
